Hi All
Here is the news & info I came across over the last month i thought worth mentioning in this edition;
e-Bay buys Skype, Google and MSN may fight to buy stake in AOL, new search channel opens up, being Mobile search current market being 12-24 year olds, but techs and CEO's are following, Google heralds end of the size wars by removing its index size from its homepage, releases Google Talk & blog search which enables one to search blogs in almost realtime. The issue of bidding on trademarks appeared again, but remains pretty open on Google; they state "Google already has a policy that prohibits advertisers from using someone else's trademark in their ad text when the trademark owner objects."
In articles of the week I have some info on how Google updates it SERP's (Search engine result pages) , and whether to use an underscore or a hyphen in a url.
VOIP is a fantastic world opening up to the mass market
I now call people via my computer using the Freshel service. EBay has decided Skype is a good fit forking out $2.6 Billion upfront and $1.6 Billion odd USD in bonus/performance payments. According to EBAY; EBay + PayPal + Skype will accelerate ecommerce on Ebay. Microsoft is not far behind with its acquisition of VoIP services firm Teleo for an undisclosed sum, Redmond will be the first search engine player to offer that service. Microsoft plans to take Teleo's technology and integrate it into MSN Messenger. Other Microsoft products like Internet Explorer and Office should be considered candidates for Teleo integration.
